Historical and Scenic Description of Villa Bonomo

Walking up Via Bonomea, the views of Trieste unfold in a way that feels almost magical. By the time you reach Villa Bonomo, you feel as though you’re standing above the city, with its terracotta rooftops and the shimmering Adriatic below.

It’s no wonder Carlo de Zinzendorf, the governor of Trieste in 1776, wrote about the villa with such admiration, describing it as a place that offered the impression of “plunging into the city.”

Built in the 18th century by the Bonomo family, one of the most prominent in Trieste, this residence was designed to reflect prestige and elegance. From its stately halls to its beautiful gardens, the villa has retained its history while offering all the amenities you could need for a modern celebration.

Whether you’re planning an indoor ceremony in one of its beautifully decorated rooms or saying your vows outdoors amidst the greenery, an elopement in Trieste at Villa Bonomo is equally breathtaking in every season.

The gardens, which overlook the sea, provide the perfect backdrop for romantic portraits, while the large park and convenient access to transport make it an ideal space for hosting guests.

And with two kitchens available for catering, Villa Bonomo is ready to bring to life the culinary experiences that make Italian celebrations so special!

Jennifer and Federico’s Elopement Preparations

Jennifer and Federico began their elopement in Trieste at Villa Bonomo, and I had the privilege of capturing their getting-ready moments in the villa’s gorgeous interiors.

Jennifer’s suite was filled with natural light, creating a relaxed atmosphere as she prepared for the day ahead. Meanwhile, Federico enjoyed some quiet time with his best man, soaking in the excitement of the occasion.

One of the sweetest details they incorporated into their day was a wooden tree guest book. Each guest wrote their name on a small wooden leaf and placed it into the tree box – a lovely keepsake for Jennifer and Federico to take home. These kinds of personal touches always make an elopement feel so much more meaningful.

As the preparations came together, I photographed candid moments of the couple with their loved ones. The villa’s stylish decor and warm tones provided a stunning backdrop for these intimate shots, and the anticipation in the air was palpable.

The Outdoor Reception and Speeches

After their lovely ceremony, the celebrations moved outdoors to the villa’s picturesque gardens. The reception was set up beneath the open sky, with long tables adorned with vibrant sunflowers and soft fairy lights strung above.

The tablescape was a beautiful reflection of Jennifer and Federico’s cheerful personalities, with sunflowers adding a bright and welcoming touch to their elopement in Trieste at Villa Bonomo.

The catering featured a selection of Italian delicacies, and it was a joy to see everyone enjoying the delicious snacks while mingling. A DJ played a great mix of music, creating a lively yet relaxed atmosphere as guests chatted and laughed.

During the reception, I captured group photos of the couple with their guests, as well as candid moments that perfectly encapsulated the day’s warmth and joy.

Jennifer and Federico also took some time for portraits during the toasts, with the villa’s exterior serving as a stunning backdrop.

As the speeches began, the words shared by their loved ones brought a tear to more than a few eyes!

Cake Cutting and Dancing Under the Fairy Lights

As the sun began to set, the gardens transformed into an even more magical space. The fairy lights strung across the trees twinkled against the evening sky, creating the perfect setting for the next part of their elopement in Trieste at Villa Bonomo.

Jennifer and Federico cut into their beautiful heart-shaped cakes, which were topped with fresh fruit – a sweet and simple detail that matched the day’s style.

With the formalities of the cake cutting complete, the evening transitioned into dancing. Guests swayed and spun beneath the fairy lights, their laughter carrying into the night. The joy on Jennifer and Federico’s faces as they danced together under the canopy of lights was unforgettable.

Later in the evening, the celebrations moved indoors, where the dancing and mingling continued. Everyone’s energy was infectious, and it was a reminder of just how special these intimate elopements in Italy can be.

There was no stress, no rushing – just a group of people coming together to celebrate love in the most lovely way!
